Subject: Recommendation to Snow Summit Resort over Bear Mountain Resort
I have written down the pros and cons of both ski resorts dealing with many multiple reasons to go to one resort over the other resort.
Recommendation
I recommend Snow Summit Ski Resort over Bear Mountain because of three main reasons: setup, cost, and opacity. The location of both ski resorts are about two hours away from San Diego; on the same mountain. Snow Summit is more of a family atmosphere and has very little lines, where Bear is all party and crazy packed.
Discussion
SETUP/SIZE
With multiple visitors/tourists a season, the parks must be suitable for everyone.
Snow Summit : This resort has many ride sections. On the left, there is black diamond (expert). In the middle there in intermediate, on the right, there is all park (pipes,blocks,ramps). Down at the bottom left of the slopes, there are bunny slopes for beginners. At Snow Summit, everyone can enjoy their ride.
Big Bear : Bear is only suited for park terrain. On every run, there are jumps. Big Bear resort is not nearly as big at Summit.
COST
Big Bear and Snow Summit offer the same price for a lift ticket. Ticket prices range depending on your age frame (ex:6 & under = free, 16-22 = $39) or what time of day pass you get (ex:night = $22). If you buy a pass for Snow Summit, you can take a shuttle to Bear Resort using the same lift ticket from Summit; it is kind of like a park hopper, only for the price of one.
OPACITY
While both resorts are very popular from everyone across the U.S, one resort is way too overrated while the other is cool, calm, and collected with nice people everywhere.
Snow Summit : I have never seen any lines at Snow Summit that make me want to say “wow, lets leave.” The workers are very up to speed with getting everyone on the lifts and moving. In the lodge areas/cafes, there is many open tables.
Bear Mountain : I have never seen Bear Resort empty like I have at Summit. The lodging area is just swarmed with many party people that are always drinking. The lines are always long and the workers like to take their time with what they do.
Conclusion
Well its not hard to tell, I personally choose Snow Summit over Bear Mountain because of many reasons. As a snowboarder, I like to have a lot of space on the slope so i can move around the whole mountain and do whatever I please. Everyone at Snow Summit are so helpful and friendly, they make you feel at home!
